National Trails Day is event run by the American Hiking Society to promote trails and a healthier lifestyle. REI is sponorsing trail maintenance at five sites in the Washington DC/Baltimore area. Representatives of WWO will be at four of these sites. The sites are Greenbelt National Park, Patapsco State Park, Croyden Creek Nature Center and Scott's Run Nature Preserve. This event is a great way to learn about how trails are built and maintained. Volunteers make a major contribution to maintaining the trails we all love to use. You do not need to know anything about trail maintenance to contribute. Organizers will train you in the tasks involved. This is a not a women-only event. This is a REI event, so please register with REI directly to receive times and directions. Contact information is provided below.

Level: Everyone welcome!
Take a long, relaxing dip in cool waters during the summer heat while tubing down the scenic Antietam Creek. In the middle of our four hour float, we'll be treated to lunch prepared by our guides. Don't worry about too much sun exposure, as the creek is partially shaded. And, the tubes have a plastic bottom so you don't have to get too wet, unless you decide to take a plunge to cool off. This is a great trip for large groups, so bring a friend!
