This trip includes waterfalls, lots of wildlife, broad views of the Delaware Water Gap and a glacial pond! Nestled deep in the Worthington State Forest near the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, is Sunfish Pond, a quiet glacial lake accessible via the Appalachian Trail and one of several protected natural areas in New Jersey. Although there is no swimming allowed, the lake is a perfect place to visit on a summer day. This is an out and back hike with gradual climbs through open forest. We will camp at a backpacker campsite near the pond.
Gear sharing, meal planning, carpooling and all other details will be worked out by email the week before the trip.
WWO has a limited amount of equipment to lend as a member benefit.
This trip is Saturday to Sunday.
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, June 13, 2018
