Join WWO on this unique trip as we explore the Patuxent River, discover its beauty and camp along its banks! Scenery around the Patuxent River ranges from rich marshlands to lush fields, rural landscapes, suburban growth and locations of archaeological and historical significance. The Patuxent River is the longest river that flows entirely within the State of MD and the Patuxent Water Trail is a cooperative project by state and county governments, conservation groups, businesses and volunteers.
We expect to paddle approximately 10 miles and spend the night at a primitive backcountry campsite accessible only by water.
Gear sharing, meal planning, carpooling, and all other details will be worked out by email the week before the trip. WWO has a limited amount of equipment to lend as a member benefit. Fee includes canoe rental and camping but no meals.
Your canoe-experienced furry friend is invited on this trip. This trip is Saturday to Sunday.
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, August 30, 2017
