RIVER KAYAKING

Sunday, August 1, 2010
Harpers Ferry, MD
9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
$85 members, $90 non-members
($65 members, $70 non-members if you bring your own boat)

Designed for individuals who have completed the beginner class or have prior experience paddling a kayak. The intermediate lesson is on moving water (Class I-II). It provides the opportunity to practice paddling skills and learn river rescue techniques. We use whitewater style sit-on-top kayaks so you don't need to know how to roll. A major portion of class time is devoted to practice on whitewater. Bring water, lunch, and snacks.

All paddling events include a review of strokes, water safety, and boat handling. All equipment (boats, PFDs, paddles) is provided. We encourage you to e-mail or call if you have any questions about your ability to participate. If you have your own boat, please call or e-mail to discuss its suitability for this trip.
