Join
the Novice Program
Are you just beginning
to get into (or back into) the outdoors? Join the Washington Women
Outdoors Novice Program.
The Novice Program identifies the easier outdoor events that are
aimed at newcomers to outdoor adventure. Programs primarily include
hiking and biking events, and entry level sessions for other events
including rock climbing, kayaking, and canoeing. Anyone with little
or no experience in the outdoors or considered entry level are invited
to join.
Join Today by calling WWO or by sending an e-mail to request to
be included as a Novice Member (provide your name and membership
identification number). Members that indicate Novice Level experiences
on the Registration form will automatically be included. Once you’ve
registered, you’ll receive special email and mailing highlights offering
beginner tips and information.
Look for the Novice Icon to
identify the programs that are rated as an entry level program.

Board Meeting
Sunday, April 29, 2012
Location TBD
4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Did you know that WWO is run by a group of volunteers collectively
known as the Board of Directors? WWO's Board of Directors meets quarterly to plan upcoming activities, discuss existing policies
of the organization, and to follow through on improving our efforts
to better serve our members and trip participants. These regularly-scheduled
meetings are open to WWO members. We invite you to come observe our
meetings, particularly if you've always wanted to get more involved
with WWO but didn't quite know where to start.
Please register to receive directions.

Call for Officers and Future Board Members
We are extending our annual invitation to you, yes you, to apply for
a position on WWO's Board of Directors. Have you been looking for a
place to express yourself and use your talents? Perhaps that place
is with an organization geared toward women and the outdoors. Membership
on the Board of Directors involves regular participation at our monthly
meetings. Board Members also co-chair at least one of our outdoor activities
(e.g., hiking, biking), or oversee a committee that enables us to fulfill
our mission and stay solvent (e.g., risk management, finance, website,
first aid). There are many ways for you to find a place with WWO. If
you are interested, click here for an application
for the Board. We collect applications at the end of each summer and
announce via our listserv application deadlines and interview times.
All Board Members receive a complimentary WWO membership during their
tenure on the board.
